In Their Own Story

The water outside the thick glass was pitch black, illuminated only by the harsh hum of the station's internal lights. Inside, the air smelled of salt and recycled oxygen. A figure stood motionless before the viewport, watching the darkness for any sign of movement. The silence was heavy, broken only by the rhythmic beep of sonar equipment scanning the abyss. Below them lay the secrets of the Island, hidden beneath waves that had swallowed many before.

Reader's Guide
